It is Harvest Time!!
"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God." (Amos 9:13-15)
"...this is the year, of the favour of the Lord..."
Above is a paraphrase of Luke 4:19. Together with the preceding verse it reads as follows:
"18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord" (Luke 4:18 & 19).
Whilst waiting upon the Lord concerning the new year, we sensed Him saying that 2000 will be "the year of My favour". We sensed that God was saying in the midst of all the millennium propaganda and Y2K fears, that in spite of all we hear and see, He is still in control.
Wars and Rumours of Wars
Matthew 24:6a reads, "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled..."
We also read in Luke 18:8b where Jesus asks the question, "...Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?"
We must continue to hold on to Him and His Word in faith and not allow doubts and fears to overrun our lives. 2 Timothy 1:7 clearly states that we have a spirit of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
A simple definition of fear is; False Evidence Appearing Real.
Never before has the Church been challenged in the way we see at the present time! Will we continue to allow circumstances and rumours to create doubts and fears concerning the favourable future of the Church, or will we rise above our fears and misconceptions and take up the inheritance we have in the Lord Jesus Christ?
Take up the Challenge!
Will we take up this challenge to not only stand up and defend our territory, but actually go on the offensive and take back that which the Church has lost through the ages due to the lies of the evil one.
The word "acceptable" in Luke 4:19 has a much deeper meaning than what we see at first glance. A quick word study will reveal some of the wonderful truths locked up in the original languages:
In the Hebrew language it means: to be pleased with, to satisfy a debt, to set affection upon, approve, consent with, delight oneself in, enjoy, to have favour, to be favourable, to like, to be pleased with, have pleasure in, to delight oneself in, good pleasure.
The Greek meanings are: approved, propitious (attended by favourable or suitable conditions). The word "propitious" in Latin is "propitius" and it literally means to fly forward.
Fly on the Wings of the Spirit
We believe that God wants us to fly forward in this new year and new millennium on the wings of His Spirit.
No longer do we have to doubt that His favour is upon us!! God is calling His Church into a place where we can actually experience His favour. A place where we actually experience the fulfilment of the promises given in the Lord Jesus Christ.
For us to get to the place where we are in a position to enjoy all Jesus has provided, will take effort from our side in the sense that we need to place the focus of our entire existence upon Jesus.
It means we will have to count everything else apart from Him as rubbish. It means we must let go of a dualistic mindset with a viewpoint of "God against the devil" to one of God who destroyed all the power of the devil (Heb 2:14; Col 2:14-15).
A study of the Tabernacle of Moses reveals that in the Holy of Holies the Ark of the Covenant was found with the Shekinah glory of God hovering over it. Thatís all. No one else. Not even the devil. The only person allowed there, and that only once a year, was the Highpriest who came to make Atonement for the sins of the people.
The Way has been Opened
For us who have Jesus, the way has once and for all been opened into the Holiest of all by the perfect sacrifice of Jesus. This means that we, through His shed Blood have free access into the throne room of God. The accuser of the brethren is not there, because he is not welcome and has been defeated.
The scripture does say that the devil accuses us before Godís throne, but the only way he can do so is through the lips of Christians who stand before the Throne and give him the right to accuse by us accusing one another.
Let us refrain from speaking against one another simply because we donít understand what God is doing in someone elseís life. Let us refrain from speaking death because we donít agree with someone else.
Instead let us intercede for those we have differences with and trust God to move us into unity by His Spirit. Let us trust Him to answer the Prayer of Jesus in John 17.
We believe that this new year the Church has stepped into another level of Godís glory, and that the Lord wants us to enter into the fulfilment of every promise He has given us. The Holy of Holies represents to us the complete fulfilment of every promise that has been given to Jesus and the completion and fulfilment thereof in and through us as the Body of Christ.
Let us believe Him and get rid of everything that would hold us back from entering into His promised Land!
Yours in His Love and Anointing
