God desires Intimacy...

"Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; spare not, lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes, For you shall spread abroad to the right hand and to the left, and your offspring will possess the nations, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited" Isaiah 54:2,3.

The moving of God's Spirit in one's life always necessitates the removal of the old and accepting and flowing with the new. It is always easier for you and I to remain in a rut and with the familiar than it is to get out of the rut and do something that is totally new.

However, in God nothing is ever really new because God never changes, but when we look at what God is doing, it sometimes appears completely foreign to us. The reason for this is because God is revealing a facet of Himself that we as individuals were not aware of previously because our revelation and vision of whom He is, is so limited.

Right now, in South Africa, God is revealing a facet of His character which is totally foreign to the religious and carnal mind. For anyone to know what is happening at this time, they need to walk closely with the Lord because "the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him; and he is incapable of knowing them because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated". (1 Cor. 2:14)

God is desiring an intimacy with His people that will exceed anything we have known before. This intimacy will transcend everything that has its roots and origins in the flesh. To know God intimately in this way will require that we count the cost of our walk with Him. We have no option but to lay down that which is carnal and fleshly and seek the face of God in earnest.

Whatever it is that hinders us in our walk with God, this needs to be laid aside, because the longer we wait, the more difficult it will be to change our hearts and become obedient to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

"Come, and let us return to the Lord; for He has torn so that He may heal us; He has stricken so that He may bind us up. After two days He will revive us -- quicken us, give us life; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live before Him. Yes, let us know -- recognise, be acquainted with and understand Him; let us be zealous to know the Lord -- to appreciate, give heed to and cherish Him. His going forth is prepared and certain as the dawn, and He will come to us as the (heavy) rain, as the latter rain that waters the earth" (Hosea 6:1-3).

"Therefore also now, says the Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning until every hindrance is removed and the broken fellowship is restored. Rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness, and He revokes His sentence of evil when His conditions are met" (Joel 2:12,13).

God's message is clear. He is ready to pour out of His Spirit. Are we ready? Are we ready for the glory to manifest and follow through us to touch broken humanity, or will we be destroyed by that very same glory? It is up to us! Let us humble ourselves before our God and prepare our hearts. When we draw close to Him, He WILL draw close to us.

Pray with me;

Heavenly Father, as a Christian I am the true circumcision, and I worship You in spirit and by the Holy Spirit, and I exult and glory and pride myself in Jesus Christ, and put no confidence or dependence on what I am in the flesh and on outward privileges and physical advantages and external appearances.

Whatever former things I had that might have been gains to me, I have come to consider as one combined loss for Christ's sake. Yes, furthermore I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege -- the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth and supreme advantage -- of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, of perceiving and recognising and understanding Him more fully and clearly. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win and gain Christ, the Anointed One.

I pray that I may actually be found and known as in Him, not having any self-achieved righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law's demands, but possessing that genuine righteousness which comes through faith in Christ, the Anointed One, the truly right standing with God, which comes from God by saving faith.

For my determined purpose is that I may know Him -- that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognising and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly. And that I may in the same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection; and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed in spirit into His likeness even to His death, in the hope that if possible I may attain to the spiritual and moral resurrection that lifts me out from among the dead even while in the body.

I know that I have not attained this ideal or am already made perfect yet, but I press on to lay hold of and grasp and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus, the Messiah, has laid hold of me and made me His own.

I do not consider that I have captured and made it my own yet; but one thing I do -- it is my one aspiration: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the supreme and heavenly prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling me upward.

I pray this, in the Name of Jesus, Amen!

In conclusion I want to thank you for standing with us as a ministry. Annika and I really appreciate you. Only eternity will reveal the effect of your prayers and support in the lives of those whom we have the privilege of ministering to.

Yours in His Love and Anointing
